Chris Sweet – Senior Fantasy Analyst: The Wagner Wire

It’s time to get down once again. The fantasy performances were a little uneven in Week 9. We are down to the home stretch in most leagues with only 4 weeks left to make the playoffs. Here are 69 things I took away from Week 9.

  1. Holy smokes, Carson Wentz is gonna win a lot of people Fantasy Titles.
  2. Jay Ajayi looked impressive on only 9 carries.
  3. Alshon Jeffery is emerging a little. Even so, this was only Jeffery’s second game with more than 4 receptions.
  4. The Cowboys have quite the young Quarterback as well in Dak Prescott. He is a true Fantasy Stud.
  5. Terrance Williams caught all 9 of his targets for 141 yards. He will be a top waiver wire add this week. I wouldn’t chase that stat line.
  6. We finally have closure on Zeke. Maybe? Hell, I don’t know anymore.
  7. Evan Engram has at least 4 catches for 60 yards and a TD in each of the 3 games since Odell Beckham Jr has been out.
  8. The Redskins predictably did not have a lot of fantasy stars in Seattle.
  9. Rob Kelley managed 2 TDs. He totaled only 18 yards on 14 carries on the day.
  10. Zay Jones had his best game as a pro but was injured late. He did not practice Monday.
  11. Tyrod Taylor showed that he can come through in Garbage Time. Looking at the Bills upcoming schedule he may have more opportunities for that.
  12. Smokin Jay Cutler looked really good on Sunday Night. It was the Raiders defense though. Proceed with caution.
  13. Kenyan Drake and Damien Williams both produced in the backfield.
  14. Matt Forte was the most productive Jets RB in Week 9. None of the 3 can really be trusted in any given week.
  15. Robby Anderson has scored a TD in 3 straight games.
  16. The Patriots get a humiliated Denver Defense coming off of the bye.
  17. Brady has struggled in Denver in his career.
  18. The Bears are going to ride Jordan Howard down the home stretch.
  19. With Zach Miller out for the year, keep an eye on rookie Adam Shaheen.
  20. Over the last 4 weeks, the #1 WR in ppr scoring is Marvin Jones Jr. That’s including his bye week.
  21. Golden Tate joins Marvin Jones in the Top 10 WRs in ppr scoring for the season.
  22. Monday Night makes 3 straight games of over 300 yards for Matthew Stafford.
  23. Nobody is more valuable to their team than Aaron Rodgers. Just watch Brett Hundley play.
  24. Aaron Jones left a lot of Fantasy owners needing just a few more points on Monday Night.
  25. The Vikings are supposedly going to activate Teddy Bridgewater this week. I’d save him for next year.
  26. Case Keenum has actually played well and has won 4 games in a row.
  27. The Ravens head to their bye and not a moment too soon.
  28. Pick up Danny Woodhead this week before the rush.
  29. AJ Green has a home in the WWE when football is over.
  30. Joe Mixon still has yet to break out.
  31. The Browns come off their bye this week. That’s too bad.
  32. Isaiah Crowell will look to build on his best outing of the season.
  33. Pittsburgh may feel like they’ve gotten 2 bye weeks in a row when they face Indianapolis this week.
  34. Martavis Bryant is running with the 1s again in practice.
  35. Just thinking about the Atlanta Offense gets me angry.
  36. Julio Jones is still on pace for 1300 yards but he does not feel like a first rounder this year.
  37. Matt Ryan is really not startable right now.
  38. Christian McCaffery is starting to look as good as people say he is.
  39. The nice thing about Cam Newton is every few games he’ll give you RB1 numbers along with whatever he does through the air.
  40. Is it getting hot in here or is it just me? I love me some Alvin Kamara.
  41. Alvin Kamara has been the top rookie RB scorer in PPR 3 times. That’s the same amount as times Kareem Hunt has been the top rookie RB scorer.
  42. The Saints have two studs at RB and it has really limited Drew Brees ceiling.
  43. Nobody expected the Tampa Bay Bucs to be a dumpster fire, but here we are.
  44. Ryan Fitzpatrick could be a sneaky DFS option this week against his old team.
  45. DeAndre Hopkins owners survived Week 1 of the Tom Savage Garden experience.
  46. Will Fuller owners did not survive Tom Savage.
  47. Jacoby Brissett is still available in 76% of Yahoo leagues.
  48. This was one of those weeks where we were reminded that you can never sit TY Hilton.
  49. Leonard Fournette returns this week in a juicy matchup with the Chargers poor run Defense.
  50. Marqise Lee may be the Jags WR to own going forward. If you really need to own one.
  51. The Titans have not been very impressive yet they are right in the AFC South race.
  52. Corey Davis made a nice play last week. Look for him to get more involved against Cincinnati.
  53. Demarco Murray is dealing with a knee injury. Derrick Henry could have a ton of value down the stretch.
  54. Adrian Peterson now has 314 yards rushing in 3 games as a Cardinal.
  55. Drew Stanton looked fine in Week 9 but he gets an angry Seahawks Defense in Week 10.
  56. Todd Gurley topped 1000 yards from scrimmage in his first 8 games.
  57. Robert Woods should be picked up in every ppr league this week.
  58. Jared Goff is still available in 25% of leagues.
  59. The Seattle run game is still not worth starting.
  60. Russell Wilson is reclaiming his spot as a top Fantasy QB.
  61. Carlos Hyde leads the 49ers with 40 receptions.
  62. Garrett Celek is a cheap dfs option this week.
  63. Brock Osweiler is still bad at football.
  64. Demaryius Thomas is targeted more with Brock at QB.
  65. It’s time to worry about Kareem Hunt. Just a little.
  66. Only DeAndre Hopkins and Antonio Brown have more fantasy points than Tyreek Hill at the WR position.
  67. Travis Kelce would actually be the WR3 if he wasn’t a TE.
  68. The Chargers passing offense has a brutal match-up with the Jags secondary coming off of their bye,
  69. Marshawn Lynch could start seeing a lot of TDs.

That’s it for that 69 tip. Meet me back here next week so we can continue pushing towards the playoffs.
