Sweet Fantasy – 2018 AFC East Preview

Chris Sweet – Senior Fantasy Analyst: The Wagner Wire Guess who’s back? Back Again. Football’s back. Tell a friend. Oh yeah, it’s that time again! Another fantasy football season is upon us. I am your Sweet Fantasy once again and the Wagner Wire is fired up for this season. This is the first of my division preview series which will go over the fantasy options on each team. It’s good to be back!   Buffalo Bills   The Bills found a way to end their long playoff drought last year. They never totally bought into the Tyrod Taylor era and now will make way to future starter Josh Allen. Their biggest fantasy star the past 3 years has been LeSean McCoy. Shady is living up

Sweet Fantasy – 69 Things from Week 2

Chris Sweet - Senior Fantasy Analyst: The Wagner Wire It's that time for 69 again. 69 things, thoughts, musings, and anecdotes from Week 2. In honor of this column, Congrats to Gronk on career TD Number 69! Tom Brady against the Saints defense is unfair, especially to owners playing against him last week. Brandin Cooks is gonna explode one week soon but you have to start him every week and take the bad with the good. The Saints offense hasn't had that great week yet. They will probably have to wait at least one more week. Carolina's D is strong. Matt Ryan and the Falcons offense looks as good as last year. Devonta Freeman is gonna have a lot of big

Sweet Fantasy – 69 Things: Week 1

Chris Sweet - Senior Fantasy Analyst: The Wagner Wire Your Sweet Fantasy is back and I'm bringing you 69 thoughts, facts, and musings from a mostly ugly Week 1 of fantasy football. Alex Smith has a large chip on his shoulder. Kareem Hunt is going to be a problem for opposing fantasy owners. Travis Kelce is not Gronk...he's better than him. Tom Brady will be just fine. I want to own Brandin Cooks this week in New Orleans. Chris Hogan is not a suitable replacement for Julian Edelman. The Top 5 Fantasy QBs in Week 1 were Alex Smith, Sam Bradford, Matthew Stafford, Trevor Siemian, and Derek Carr. At least 3 of them won't have a better week all year. Minnesota's

Sweet Fantasy 2017 – AFC South Preview

Chris Sweet - Senior Fantasy Analyst: The Wagner Wire This is the 3rd part of an 8 part series. You can find the previous installments below. AFC North AFC East For our 3rd installment, we are heading to the AFC South. This is a division that was owned by Peyton Manning and the Colts for over a decade. When the Colts drafted Andrew Luck it seemed like they would own it for the next decade as well. Going into 2017 that is not the case. The South is as open as it has been and there is no shortage of Fantasy Football Performers. Houston Texans   It took no time for the Texans to be dealt a huge blow when Will Fuller broke his collarbone as training

Sweet Fantasy: Trading Places

Chris Sweet - Senior Fantasy Football Analyst: The Wagner Wire   Your Sweet Fantasy is back sliding up in the DM's with a look at players who helped or hurt their fantasy prospects for 2017 by finding a new place to lay their head. To quote Mitch from Old School, "Sometimes you think you've found true love, and then you take the early flight home from San Diego, and a couple of new people jump out of the closet like a GD magic show". Breakups can be hard. Especially in the NFL, but sometimes a new relationship with an eager team can lead to bigger opportunities than you've had in the past. We're gonna break down which players may have found happiness,

2017 NFL Rankings – Tight Ends, Team Defenses, And Kickers.. Oh My!

Chris Sweet - Fantasy Sports Analyst This will be the final part of our preliminary NFL Player Rankings for the preseason and we will be covering the last skill position of Tight End as well as the less glamorous positions of Kicker and Team Defense.   Tight End Rankings We'll start with the Tight Ends. This is a position that is a little more wide open than in the previous years. Gronk is still in his prime, but the injury risk is always there. He has averaged 11 games played per year over the past five years. This is why I'm giving Travis Kelce the #1 spot this year. Kelce finished as the best tight end last year, but Jeremy Maclin being cut is

2017 NFL Player Rankings – Wide Receivers

Chris Sweet - Fantasy Sports Analyst Today we dive into our preliminary Wide Receiver Rankings. Over the past five years wide receivers have completely overtaken running backs as the higher scoring skill position. In some years the WR30 was as good as the RB10. Last year saw a bit of a resurgence of the running backs, at least at the top, and the league as a whole will slowly transition that way I would guess, but I think the WRs are poised for a big bounce back this year. The top 3 WR are the same as last year, and I don't expect any of them to fall off. Antonio Brown is the closest thing we have seen since to Jerry

2017 NFL Player Rankings – Running Backs

Chris Sweet - Fantasy Sports Analyst Today we are gonna unveil our early rankings for Running Backs. Last season we saw a bit of a resurgence with this position after several years of being very thin after the top 3 or 4 guys. You are gonna see a lot of people going back towards the RB-RB drafting method this year, and I'm not ready to say that's an outright mistake, but I am expecting some letdowns this season. My favorite format is PPR so these rankings will be based on getting a point for each catch. The top 3 guys barring injury are in a clear tier of their own, and should be the top 3 picks in most drafts this
