Sweet Fantasy Week 14 DFS Value Picks

Chris Sweet – Fantasy Sports Analyst: The Wagner Wire

Whew, Did everyone catch their breath yet? Week 13 was….exciting. After 3 weeks of down scoring we saw cash lines that were upwards of 180 in most contests. It’s hard to predict exactly when a week like that can happen so maximizing your value is always a critical aspect of putting your lineups together. Being able to afford the most high priced assets at RB and WR is a key to cashing on a regular basis. That’s why what I try to provide every week are players at each position that will out produce their price and yet give you cap relief to afford as many high priced Studs as possible. So let’s start finding those bargains.

Quarterbacks

Jameis Winston $5500 DK/$5400 FH

Start your QBs against the Saints. It’s an easy formula and this week you can get Jameis Winston very cheap on DraftKings and FantasyHub which are the top two sites to play on. Winston has impressed as of late and looks like the Bucs made a very wise choice by taking him Number 1. His legs are an added value as we saw on one of the gutsier runs you will see last week to get a first down late in the game and eventually threw the winning TD to Mike Evans. You have several options to stack him with this week as I like Vincent Jackson and ASJ as cheaper options if you don’t want to go with Mike Evans.

Ryan Tannehill $5200 DK/$5100 FH

I mentioned last week that taking a QB the week after he under performs can pay great dividends. Well Tannehill didn’t need to do much last week so he only totaled 86 yards passing. This week he gets a great match up against one of the worst pass defenses in the league and with the Giants being able to throw the ball as well may be forced in to a MNF shootout. It’s always nice to have the last bullet on Monday Night too. Now that Davante Parker is starting alongside Jarvis Landry he has one of the better one-two punches in the league to throw to.

Tyrod Taylor $5400 DK/$5300 FH

Tyrod Taylor is a Wagner Wire staff favorite this week as seen on last nights The Big 3 DFS  Show https://thewagnerwire.com/the-big-3-dfs-show-nfl-week-14-daily-fantasy-breakdown-draftkings-fanduel/

Taylor has been really lighting it up the past two weeks and gets a bad Philly Secondary this week in what should be a huge letdown spot for the Eagles. Tyrod has over 20 points five times this year including each of the past two. Shady McCoy will get the spotlight in this game but Tyrod should end up being the biggest star throwing to an absolutely nuclear Sammy Watkins.

Running Backs

Shaun Draughn $4800 DK/$4600 FH

Few backs are getting the workload right now that Shaun Draughn is. The dude does not come off the field for the 49ers and has averaged over 19 touches a game since he became the starter including 22 catches the past 4 weeks. He’s a great option in any ppr format right now and is still cheap enough to almost guarantee value. That’s all the positives before you mention the opponent this week. The Browns have been near the bottom of the league at defending the run game all year. Look for Draughn to have his biggest game yet.

Charcandrick West $5100 DK/$5000 FH

Remember this guy? A few short weeks ago he was CHALKandrick West in his game against the Chargers. He got off to a great start but got hurt and then we saw Spencer Ware impress in his absence. Well Charknado was back last week and although Ware got the TD, West saw 66% of the touches. West gets that same juicy match up with the Chargers again this week and he should be much less owned this time. He’s still pretty cheap and could help you have a very high point total if he does what he’s capable of.

Giovani Bernard $4100 DK $4000 FH

The Steelers and Bengals already played once this year and it was a relatively low scoring game. I don’t expect this one to follow suit. I see there being a lot of passing in this game by both teams and I think that’s why Bernard is such a good play this week. He cooled off after the first half but I expect him to see plenty of receptions in this one. He also should not be highly owned and this is the cheapest rice he’s been all season. A good play for gpps this week.

Wide Receivers

Doug Baldwin $4500 DK/$4300 FH

There’s nobody hotter in the league right now than the duo of Russell Wilson and Doug Baldwin. While Baldwin’s price is going up he is still cheap enough to play without much downside. The Ravens have not been covering Wide Receivers well this year and while Doug is eventually going to stop scoring multiple TDs each week he’s still gonna see a ton of targets for the time being. Baltimore is really good against the run so look for Russ and Doug to keep rolling.

Travis Benjamin $5000 DK/$4900 FH

Travis Benjamin has emerged as a boom or bust guy this season. While his 0 last week should keep most people away he is the same guy that helped someone win a million bucks earlier this year. With Johnny 30 Pack back behind the saddle he will definitely look to hook up deep with Benji again. This is a lot more of a gpp play but the big play ability is there and Benjamin is on pace for 1000 yards. The 49ers have played better defense of late but they are much worse on the road.

Brandon Coleman $3700 DK/$3600 FH

One of the stars of the preseason was Brandon Coleman who was one of the last cuts at Saints training camp in 2014 but made the team in 2015 after a strong training camp. While he sizzled in training camp he fizzled once the season started and caught only 14 balls until last week when he had 4 catches on 7 targets. With news today that Brandin Cooks suffered a concussion he could miss this Sundays game which would make Coleman a sneaky gpp play this weekend in a game they should need to throw to stay in.

Tight Ends

There are two Tight Ends under 3k that I really like this week. Austin Sefarian Jenkins of the Bucs and Will Tye of the Giants both of whom are cheap and available, Sweet Fantasy’s favorite type. Jenkins had his first game back last week so he should be back to full speed this week in a good match up. Will Tye takes over for Larry Donnell and has went for double digits in each of the last 3 games.

Good Luck Wagner Wire Nation and as always I’ll be your Sweet Fantasy.
